We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Therapist to
join our team at AMFM Healthcare. The Primary Therapist will
provide individual and group therapy to adults in our residential
treatment program. This role involves collaborating with a
multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
that support clients in achieving their recovery goals. The ideal
candidate will have experience working with diverse populations and
a strong commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate
care.
Special Job Details:
Primary Therapist I Compensation: $80,000-$94,000 dependent on
years of experience and licensure.
Job Type: Full-time, Salary, exempt.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9:00am-5:00pm.
This position requires being able to handle a case load of 4-8
clients and will be dependent of the needs of the program.
This position will be based out of one facility; however, might be
assigned to help at other facilities when needed.
This position requires working in-person five (5) days per
week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Proficiently conduct clinical evaluation, biopsychosocial
assessment, client diagnosis, and interpretive summaries among
other assessments and evaluations. Prepare person-centered
treatment plans (ISP's,) case management, consultation, education,
and referral as needed.
Provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to
individuals, groups and families as needed.
Facilitate individual psychotherapy sessions and group therapy.
Provide services in accordance to organization's policies and
procedures and established Mental Health and Substance Abuse
Standards as well as within the scope of practice of the
therapist.
Evaluate the individual and family systems as well as assess
clients functioning within work, family, and routines of daily
living and identify areas needing continued support, resources, and
treatment in order to assist clients.
Maintain Electronic Health Records to reflect the course of
treatment and provide required documentation.
Prepare pre-certification/authorization information to insurance
utilization review team and subsequent concurrent review (continued
stay) clinical reports per medical necessity criteria.
Provide emergency crisis services during work hours and after hours
as assigned.
Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, training, and other
activities, which ensure effective and efficient functioning of
clinical operations.
Adhere to organizational standards and policies and procedures,
code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional
standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and
procedures and exercise professionalism at all times.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling,
or a related field.
Current and valid Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social
Work licensure with the state of Virginia.
Must have active registration with Virginia Board of Counseling or
Virginia Department of Health Professions.
Flexibility to work some weekends on call and assist when requested
on after hours crisis calls.
Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as CBT,
DBT, or trauma-informed care.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Experience working with adults with a variety of mental health
disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality
disorders, and trauma-related conditions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment.
Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional
development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a residential treatment setting.
Specialized training or certification in trauma-informed care,
substance use disorders, or other relevant areas.
